New makeup in July: The bits I liked

Foundation – Clinique’s, Even Better

Clinique Even Better Foundation has an SPF15 and is an oil free formula, so it won’t clog your pores and it does protect you a little against harmful sun rays. The coverage is moderate to full but I found it to fall in the moderate category unless built up (using brush etc). For me, it feels fairly light and covers without masking. I also found it to not settle in my pores nor did it highlight the fact they are enlarged. In terms of wear worn alone this comfortably wore around 8 hours without fading.

Mascara – Charlotte Tilbury, Full Fat Lashes

This mascara does what it says it does: elongates, separates, and thickens my lashes. It’s a glossy black with minimal scent. This mascara lifts, thickens, and even adds length. I don’t have issues with it flaking, and never had smudging.

Lipstick – Chanel, Le Rouge Crayon De Couleur

The Le Rouge Crayon de Couleur is a twist on the classic lipstick form with a satiny smooth finish. They have a shine much like the Rouge Coco Shines and Rouge Coco Stylos, but with a creamier texture. I found mine was medium-full coverage with a few swipes. In terms of lasting power they stay put a long time and don’t slide off or fade quickly. However due to the glossy emollient nature of these you will see colour transfer to cups if you drink anything.

Hair Oil – Aveda, dry remedy™ moisturizing oil

My hairdresser introduced me to this product after asking for some advice regarding warm weather damage. It is brilliant for dry frizzy ends. I use a couple of drops to cover only the ends of my hair, avoiding the roots – so it doesn’t look greasy! I always find after going to the hairdressers, my hair looks AMAZING, and then the next day its’s like BLAH! But not since discovering this… Brilliant!
