Oh My Fudge!

Christmas is all about gift making, good food and lots of yummy treats!

Ingredients

  • 1 x Can Condensed Milk
  • 150ml milk
  • 450g demerara sugar
  • 115g butter

Method

  1. Add the sugar, butter, milk and condensed milk to a heavy based pan and heat gently, stirring frequently, until the sugar has dissolved.

  2. Bring to the boil and as the temperature rises, stir the fudge occasionally so that the sugar doesn’t stick or burn.
  3.  To see if it’s ready, drop a little of the mixture into a jug of ice-cold water. A soft ball of fudge should form. Alternatively, check with a sugar thermometer if you have one (the fudge should be approximately 118°C).
  4. Remove the pan from the heat and pour into an 18cm shallow square tin brushed with a little vegetable oil, and leave for 10-15 mins or until almost set. It will set quicker in the fridge.
  5. Cut into squares.

Enjoy
