LQ Liquid Skin, Hair & Nails Review

NOTE: Firstly, although this product was sent to me to review, I try to be as fair and honest as possible.

“LQ Skin, Hair & Nails is a scientifically formulated daily liquid supplement and is part of the LQ Liquid Health Supplement range. Each daily bottle contains multiple key active ingredients and includes marine collagen (7000mg), hyaluronic acid, resveratrol, silicon, glucosamine, selenium and vitamins. Collagen is the most abundant, naturally occurring protein in the body and each bottle contains 7000mg of high bioavailability Peptan™ marine collagen. High grade resveratrol is extracted from red grapes.

In addition to the multiple key active ingredients LQ Skin, Hair & Nails contains:

– Vitamin C which contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of the skin. It also contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress
– Selenium which contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and hair
– Biotin (vitamin B7) which contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and hair
– Vitamin E which contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress”

I am a great believer in ‘Making yourself feel good from the inside out’. I am definitely not a saint, and will be the first to admit I slip up, am not consistent with my skin routine and sometimes I am even as grey as the weather. Like most ladies out there though, I am on the constant look out for good skincare. I love any excuse to try new products, and discover possible solutions!

I was given the opportunity to give LQ Liquid Health’s Skin, Hair & Nails liquid supplements a try.  I admittedly tried to stay away from any previous reviews, preventing any judgement prior to the month ahead. Like some of you out there I to was a bit like…

COLLEGEN!? What the heck is Collegen?

Collagen is the most abundant naturally occurring protein in your body, and up to 70% of your skin is made of collagen. Falling collagen levels aren’t just responsible for lines and wrinkles on your face, they can also cause aches and pains as well. Drinking liquid collagen can have benefits not just for your skin, but also for your hair, bones, and nails – click here for more info.

Putting collagen-enriched creams on your face can help with the fine lines and wrinkles, but drinking collagen allows it to work throughout your body. No skin cream can do that!

SO…

What’s inside?

Each 50ml bottle contains 7000mg of high quality hydrolysed Peptan™ collagen (Incase you hadn’t sussed that by now! :-p), which has high bio availability – this makes it easier for your body to take in, and actually get some of the benefits!

Other Ingredients include:

  • Hyaluronic acid
  • Grape Seed extract
  • Vitamin C and E are antioxidants
  • Selenium
  • Biotin (Vitamin B7)

These are all  important for the maintenance of normal nails, skin and hair. Taking these in liquid form is is believed to effect your body much more efficiently  and effectively than your normal supplement tablets.

Smell

The product is quite sweet, perfumy smelling..Reminded me a little of a summers day – as cheesy as that sounds!

Taste

The taste is actually quite pleasant! I will totally admit, I had my hand pinching my nose before I’d even smelt it! For me, it tasted quite floral but having since read other reviews, I think this is down to personal taste. Either or, it’s certainly not horrid, and is very tolerable.

Before

Excuse the poor quality picture! I wanted a photo that showed my trouble area – THE T ZONE!

After

No Foundation! No Filter! 🙂
